Slim Leather Briefcase

Two weeks into using this briefcase and I am very happy. The shoulder strap maintains shape well, and spreads load, and the briefcase overall has a robust, high-quality feel. Compartments are important to me, and this has enough of them in convenient locations. The pin buckle has worn in nicely now, and the lack of zips gives me hope this one can last me several years.

For 6 or 7 years I have eyed this briefcase. I put it off for one reason or another. Finally ordered this one last week, and gentleman, just buy the bag. Buy it. It's somehow better than you think it is. The leather is so thick, the finish is so good. The chestnut isn't as red as I thought it would be and matches fine with my work attire (dark brown and black dress loafers/shoes/boots/belts). Who ever made the rule that all your leather has to perfectly match down to the hue anyways?! Variety is the spice of life...

As usual, Saddleback Leather has made a beautiful, rugged, well constructed product. I've been buying their stuff for years and have never been disappointed. It has plenty of space and extra pockets which makes it very pratical. Also love that it can function as both a briefcase and backpack.

Ordered this slim briefcase after much searching and making a mock briefcase out of cardboard to check size. Haven't used it yet as it'll be my carry-on as I fly to/from work every 2 weeks. Feels quality and love the interior. Fits everything I need to have on me. Exited to start using it!!!

I’ve owned a lot of briefcases over the years, but nothing comes close to the Saddleback Leather Slim Briefcase. I bought this as an upgrade from a cheapo leather bag that has served me well over the years but was showing it's age. This is a huge upgrade! Much more solid construction, looks better, and I am sure it will last longer. You can feel the quality.

I waited years to get this bag. Don’t wait as long as me. It’s every bit as good as you think it is. You can buy an inferior bag and save a couple bucks, then buy a second one once that one breaks, or you can get this one.

I use mine daily to and from the office. But honestly, I don’t bring laptops or paperwork back and forth. I usually pack clothes and shoes for walking during lunch along with stuff like a journal, glasses case, pens, maybe some lunch, etc. I also use it for a range bag or just a bag to have all my stuff in when I travel and camp. It’s a good bag for having all your most important things in one spot when traveling. And, when I have to go to court or take depositions, I’ll take it along.

And customer service is impeccable. Nobody does it like this anymore.

I have been carrying a briefcase for 3 decades. When this one arrived at my doorstep, I could have been more elated! After the unboxing, I examined it thoroughly. I found that the craftsmanship is just as described! Over engineered! I expect to carry this one for at least a decade and maybe longer. Also, my colleague showed me his that he purchased 10 years ago as he welcomed me to Saddleback Club! I would give 10 stars if I could!

I fell in love with these bags about 5 years ago. With the price tag and me being a construction plumber at the time, it wasn’t a very practical purchase for me. I’m a leather enthusiast and I make leather products myself. One of my first bags was a rip off of the saddleback front pocket backpack. Then I saw Dave’s video about people knocking off his bag and felt a little targeted lol. But I’ve learned some things about the craft just watching Dave talk about his bags and I’ve always dreamt of having one. Fast forward to this past November…. I accepted a position as General Manager of a Plumbing and Mechanical company in westerner Kentucky, where I reside. Now was my chance. I pulled the trigger and even splurged on a wallet in the process. I’m super happy with it. It’s rugged and tough. I plan to use the hell out of it for the next 100 years. I take it into places when I know I don’t need anything out of it just because I like carrying it around and other people notice it as well(not that I care so much about what people think). This whole long story to say, Thank you Dave and everyone at Saddleback for building this beautiful product…. PS, the tobacco brown is a little darker then I expected but it’s still a beautiful.

FYI the side pockets are a little small but I was able to get it to hold a thermoflask bottle. Just takes a bit to stretch

This is definitely built to last a lifetime! It is thicker than I expected, but that is perfect because I was a little nervous when I bought it that I wouldn't be able to get my work binder and papers into it. I love the pigskin leather lining. It makes it feel so luxurious and the stitching is solid and very straight. This bag was made by someone with attention to detail. Worth every penny!

Exactly what I needed. Fits my 15" Surface Book 2, planner, and with enough room to carry a couple books and the usual modern detritus of cords, headphones, medicines, pens, and folders.
I had a Mystery Ranch briefcase for 5 years and while their gear is still perfect, the Saddleback briefcase is a nice step up in how professional and fancy it looks. Given backpacking experience I was skeptical of the "backpack" configuration, but stand corrected. I couldn't take the briefcase with me to Big Bend but the backpacking configuration was unexpectedly handy while hauling tail with the luggage in hand through DFW.
Finally glad to have one of my own.

As with all Saddleback products, this bag is extremely well made with the finest grade leather. I can just barely fit my 15” wide laptop in the main compartment. I have no doubt this bag will last me the rest of my life.

I had been looking at this bag for a couple years, with the conversion and shipping to Australia it is no cheap purchase so i was very hesitant.
I have been using it for a couple months now and I can safely say it has lived up to every expectation I had, the bag is truly hardy and amazing.
The quality and attention to detail all over the bag is exceptional I would even go to say it looks better in person then in pictures.
If you are sitting on this worried about the cost I would say to you what my partner said to me - "If it's the only bag you use for the rest of your life its a bargain"

This bag was given to me as a gift from a dear friend. It's the best bag I've ever owned and everywhere I go I get people asking me where I got it. If I could give it 10 stars out of 5, I would. I'd also recommend the luggage strap. My wife got me one of those and it makes putting it on my carryon a breeze.

Several years ago, I purchased a messenger bag. What I didn't realize was it was a limited run. I have #26 of 50. My wife has always wanted one like it, but the style never came back. So...she got that one and I got this new briefcase. It is a little different, but it has more pockets for paperwork and a better layout for my work-life.
The front pocket holds my iPad. I place paper-sketches and other important paperwork in the pocket behind. Larger, bulkier items (binders, lap top, cords, pen/pencil bag, etc.) fit nicely in the main area. The large interior pocket holds my sketchbook (although with the new iPad, it is getting less use). I put magazines and other reading material in the rear pocket to access when I have a little down time (social media is a soul-sucking, mind-numbing waste of time). The two side pockets are not used often, by choice. I can use them if I want. I do have the shoulder strap looped for "back-pack" carry, but rarely use it like that. It feels nice just carrying it like a case (and the looks of envy from other professionals occur on a regular basis).
In summary, this is an equally impressive piece compared to the one I already have. I understand that work and life changes over time. One thing that hasn't: Saddleback Leather. It is, and has always been, the best around. I am honored to carry such a fine piece of craftmanship everyday.

The look was perfect. My friend has the thin two front pocket leather briefcase and I thought it was a little too large for my usage. The slim leather briefcase is perfect for my needs! I love the Dark coffee brown color. It is going to look awesome when I get it worn in. I would highly recommend this product to others.

I'd been waiting for a thin bag that had pockets for my laptop and large tablet. Great for carrying those, the medium notepad holder, cable bag and a book or two.

Definitely hit the sweet spot with this one. I have the original briefcase, waterbag, duffel, and backpack, and this is exactly what I was looking for to finish off my list. Perfect if you are not carrying a ton of stuff. This is really the perfect case for the daily grind. Nothing even comes close to Saddleback.
