Old Design Medium Leather Portfolio

I am overing the moon with my new notepad holder, and I beat myself for not getting it sooner. The sale played a big part and I am thankful for Saddleback Leather making high quality products. My coworkers are jealous of my new notepad holder.

I ordered 2. These will last a life time then some. Great quality with a nice touch of class and sophistication.

I've had several other leather portfolios, but these are hands down the nicest and best quality out there. No doubt these will be sturdy and hold up well, as my other Saddleback products have. Can't wait to add to my collection.

I purchased this portfolio as a gift to my son on his new job as a professor. Although I haven't given it to him yet, I know that he will love it! The dark coffee brown matches the front pocket briefcase that I just gave him for his PhD degree gift.

The quality is unparalleled. I would point out that the leather tabs on the left side are - as any Saddlebacker knows - stiff as heck. So putting single sheets in there is challenging as they will crumple if you try to sheath it in there. You have to kind of put one stack in and out as a stack, so that it has enough oomph to get past the leather. When closed it is perhaps the greatest crossword puzzle surface ever created.

Very happy with the purchase. It is heavy and great quality and very stiff even though there is no cardboard etc. Worth the money and happy with the purchase.

I've had the small notepad in Tobacco light brown for a little over a year. I'm in the military and I use it at work everyday as I go to meetings, etc. It works great with a spiral top 5x8 writing pad. I've also made it work with a spiral calendar on the left side. I cut a slit in the back plastic cover of the calendar so that it slides in the pocket and stays put -- it has worked great. The quality and workmanship are excellent. I often get compliments on it. Although I've scratched the leather carrying it around, it just continues to look better. In addition, the leather was a bit stiff initially because it is a thick, quality piece of leather. However, over time it has become more flexible -- just like a favorite baseball mitt. I am very glad I made this purchase. I know I will be using it for the rest of my career!

This is my fourth SL piece. Thus far, I’ve yet to be disappointed. This particular piece, the medium portfolio, is truly amazing. The quality is unmatched. It feels durable enough to stop a bullet. Seriously! It smells great! Looks great! Is great! Fits all of my note taking accessories. Had it personalized with my initials. I love this thing! Appreciate you and your peeps Dave! It was a gift for my son and he really likes it. I would prefer embossed initials. Otherwise, very nice and love the fragrant leather scent.

My only concern when buying it was whether a legal pad would fit securely in the pocket. No problem so far. It's heavy, substantial. No regret.

I grew tired of going through a number of cheap, giveaway-type portfolios that not only looked cheap, but fell apart pretty quickly as well. What's the point? Anyway, I picked up one of these in Chestnut on Dave's Deals and wow! Unless I lose it or somebody steals it, I can't imagine ever wanting or having to replace it. It rides in my Saddleback briefcase wherever I go, and after about 6 months it's picking up some nice character. I get a lot of compliments on it, and it's ALWAYS the nicest portfolio in the room. Go ahead and get one!

Prowling around Dave's Deals for days hoping a tobacco brown would come available. Couldn't wait any longer as my old pad holder needed to be replaced. Item arrived yesterday ahead of schedule (anything SBL can never come quickly enough!) It's a beefy, beautiful, aromatic piece. For the ladies, it works for us, too. Not too masculine. I bought the tobacco brown small note pad holder after I purchased the iPhone 5 phone case. I didn't really need it I thought, because I am a retired housewife, however not so. This beautiful little pad goes with me everywhere . I find that everyday I find more uses for it. At 70 my memory is now beginning to get bad. I use it constantly to write done things I want to remember. It goes in the car with me to all those church meetings retired people seem to have, and boy the compliments I get on it. I keep it on my bedside table at night because this is when I get those great ideas. During the day it's usually near me wherever I am at the time.?? I keep a calendar notebook in the pocket on the left (recently added), and finished notes in the right inside pocket under the pad, have more room on the other side for more stuf. The pen holder soon stretched to hold my favorite ink pen and its big When I first got it, the front cover wouldn't stay closed, but after a few weeks of bending amd working it, it now lays flat. ?? I almost died when I spilled a chocolate shake on it yesterday, but I washed over the whole front with warm water and a little soap and even the light scratches come off. So don't be afraid of gettin this thing wet as I did. ??I love this little guy, now I have to find a reason to get his big brother. Five stars all the way, Dave still has not let me down yet. Beautiful leather, wonderful workmanship, (love showing it off) great service. All my pieces look as I would carefully make them if I knew how, the USA should be proud to have the Sadleback Company. Not too many left in the USA are there?

I absolutely love it. There are more than a few "scars" or marks in the leather. They are not deep, but just enough to add character. The leather is very thick, in fact I had to lay some heavy books on it to keep it folded over. The bottom line is this notepad holder is way over engineered and will absolutely outlive me. For the small investment that I have made in this notepad holder, I will make it back in compliments and not having to buy many cheap alternatives.

I have been hunting for a notepad folder that'd stand up to my aggressive travel schedule for months before coming across Saddleback. I went with a 25% discounted Dave's Deal in Dark Coffee and I could not be more pleased. The leather is a little stiff (as you'd expect) and it smells very new but the color is awesome and the folder holds everything I need for my weeks on the road. I'm pretty sure that this folder will last far longer than the one it is replacing (a Staples piece). Don't wait! Buy one!

Although I have other Saddleback products, I waited to make this purchase. Now that I finally have it, I couldn’t be happier with it. The look and feel are everything I expected they would be. But the leather smell is just fantastic!

I can't figure out why I waited so long to get this thing...

In addition to all the glowing comments in other reviews, I love this notepad cover because I can fold it back--a fantastic feature that is very hard to find in quality pad folios. When I hold it on my lap or place it on a small table, I can write with ease. It is also a great feature for lefties.
