The Rarest, Healthiest And Least Expensive Shoes You'll Ever Own

After almost 20 years of knee, foot, hip and other pain, it all went away after 4 months of wearing these shoes and so many others share my same story. Our shoes are based on the healthiest design ever created. From 1912 to 1970, it corrected and prevented almost all foot problems in the U.S. Military for millions of soldiers and now we're bringing back the earliest and most orthopedic generation of the 6 generations that were made. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. These could easily be the least expensive shoes you'll ever own, considering the cost of a single doctors visit today. And it's at half the price it would be if we wholesaled to stores. This is pure quality. To nerd out on WHY you have pain and how to find a good shoe that doesn't cause damage, click here.

Backed by Our 100 Year Warranty

Blesséd is the great grandchild who shares your same shoe size. We sleep well at night offering a 100 Year Warranty and if you were me and fully understood the extreme tightness of our Italian leather fibers and the tight tolerances of our fine old world Italian construction, you would sleep like a baby too. If you knew how much wisdom and understanding our pattern maker had of anatomy and movement of the foot, who perfected each pattern for the shoe to last longer and if you comprehended how the shape of our shoe keeps the foot from stretching out from the inside, you would know why a 100 year warranty is the least of our concerns. To read about our 100 Year Warranty click here. To watch our super long video about the materials, construction and design that explains the warranty, click here.

The Munson Last - A Shoe Shaped To Mimic A Barefoot Step

It has been nearly 90 years since a shoe shaped like ours has been offered for sale since no one else has had a sculpted last that so perfectly and comfortably shapes to the form of the foot. Ours is based on the 1st and 2nd of the 6 generations of the Munson Last that was created from 1908 to 1912 by Dr. Munson and his Shoe Board to fix all of the foot problems in the U.S. Military.

Because of its asymmetrical shape and the swing to one side, it was terribly difficult and time consuming to build and so the orthopedic nature of it was dumbed down for ease of manufacturing in the later generations. We only found one small family run shop in Italy whose old patriarch could show his shoemakers how to make our shoe like they used to. To completely nerd out on why the fascinating Munson Last was so famous and learn why it is so good for you, go down to the bottom of the page and read here.

Our Tight and Pure Materials

With this full leather synthetic free shoe, our intention was to design and build the highest quality shoe in the world. Whether or not we achieved it, we'll never know, but we do not know how someone could build a shoe to last longer. Each Officer’s Boot is made with only full-grain, vegetable tanned Italian leather which is arguably one of the tightest fibered leathers we could buy.

From the most durable military grade eyelets and hooks to the thick slabs of leather used for the insole and outsole, every component was chosen for durability, comfort, and to be easily re-soled over and over again. To learn about WHY our leather is tighter than tight and our other materials, read here.

Italian Old World Construction

Each pair of Officer’s Boots is handmade in a small workshop in Italy, where shoemaking is an art form passed down through generations and where the culture of quality is alive and well. These shoemakers give OCD a good name, with their obsession to detail—perfect stitching, old world quality construction techniques by doing it right above all else. To nerd out on the fine Italian construction details, click here. To watch how the finest details that make the biggest difference, click here.

Distinguished Design

Not many boots are complimented by strangers 100 years after they were designed. That doesn't happen because of one or two design details. That is the result of the sum of dozens of small choices for the weight of the design in one area over another, the height and shape of the toe or the distance the sole sticks out from beneath the body. It was designed to be versatile, to be worn in battle and in ceremonies and nothing has changed. Most 'my first big boy starter' boots look great right out of the box, but are hard to keep looking great without a lot of effort. Ours were designed to look great right at the start and all the way up to the end.

The exact tone of the deep Oxblood Red Brown color was not just picked out of a swatch book. It was dreamt of and designed to be just the right amount of darkness and rich tone, knowing that with these specialty Italian leathers, they would darken with time and sunshine and that is what you will live with the rest of your life. This exact color was developed because it matches perfectly with this style of shoe, but not with others. To geek out, ad nauseam, on our materials and to learn WHY our leather is such high quality, click here.

Life change?

Because these boots are among the highest quality shoes in each of the Four Critical Areas the determine a truly high quality shoe, Shape, Materials, Construction and Design. I deeply believe these shoes will change your life and change the idea of quality shoes around the world. Whether you own our shoes or not, I hope these boots have helped you learn more about what goes into a quality shoe so you will stop wearing damaging, arch weakening shoes, even expensive ones, and that you'll appreciate true quality from now on when you see it.

And life change in more than just the physical sense. There are actual studies and thinking of how "The Shoe Maketh The Man" that deals with people's perceptions of the wearer of quality shoes, how they treat them differently and how the wearer of the quality shoes feels about themselves. This topic is fascinating and very true. To read my story and the psychological studies, click here.

Believe Dave's Raves

First off, I own a number of Saddleback products. Water bag, Flight bag, Satchel, couple belts, pistol wraps and a wallet, so the leather quality was never in doubt for me. I've dealt on and off with plantar fasciitis over the years and always blamed my footwear not being supportive. I've used inserts, which helped, but didn't fix anything. Kind of like scraping the burnt toast but not fixing the toaster. I recently read an article about allowing the arches to flex (and strengthen), so I ditched the inserts and fairly quickly my foot pain resolved - maybe 2 weeks. I was familiar with the Munson last but was never able to find any shoes, boots or ANY footwear that used this last. Needless to say I was excited to find these boots and see how they work out. I've had these boots a couple weeks now and worn them every day for varying amounts of time, sometimes all day, sometimes a few hours. Here's my assessment so far - as I mentioned earlier, leather quality was not a concern based on my past experience with Saddleback and these boots are no different. Quality is excellent. I had my feet measured electronically at a running shoe store and was told my feet measured 9.2/9.3 C/D which was surprising because I normally wear a 9.5 B in Allen Edmunds shoes. I ordered the 9.5 standard width, hoping the claim of using the Brannock device size was true - it is. When I got the boots, a couple things stood out to me. First thing was the speed lace hooks. They are absolutely flawless. Brilliantly shiny. No burrs, nicks or sharp edges to tear up the laces. I was concerned about that since Dr Munson recommended eyelets instead of speed hooks. Attachment is also first rate. Not anticipating anything coming loose. Did I mention the leather quality is first rate? The only thing I'd question is the laces. They don't appear to be very durable. Not a big deal. I ordered some replacements in a couple different colors from a place I trust for durability.
As far as wearing the boots, I had some issues when I originally put them on. Something was rubbing the side of my right foot so hard I wondered if I'd have to return them. Due to Sadleback's ( reasonable) return policy I was scared about wearing the boots on non-carpeted surfaces, but decided to trust the size guidelines and wore them around the house and out on the sidewalk. After a couple wearings, the boots feel fine. After a couple weeks I still feel the ground pressing against my foot, but I'm pretty sure that it's just making my feet stronger and closely mimicking a barefoot, un-cushioned step. I feel that sensation less and less as I wear them, and believe after a month or two things will feel very natural. One thing I'm not too sure of is Dave's claim that this is a grounding shoe. Yes, the leather soles are more conductive than rubber, but I think the leather would need to fully absorb moisture to be a grounding shoe, so we'll see. Still like the leather sole though. We'll see how they do in colder, wetter weather. I've gotten a few unexpected compliments on these boots, which I certainly appreciate. I plan on wearing them as everyday boots, mostly with jeans and knocking them around a bit so they develop a good patina. Definitely won't be babying them.
All in all these look like a top flight boot and I'm excited to see how the boots and my feet respond. Thanks Dave.

Officer's boot, English Tan

These shoes are fantastic value for the price! You won’t find anything quite like this quality and beauty for less than $1k on this side of the pond. After years of foot abuse, I’ve developed some foot issues, but these shoes fit perfectly, provide great heel support, and give my toes plenty of wiggle room. There’s practically no break-in period at all. I haven’t walked my first hundred miles in them yet, but I’m sure they’ll become even more comfortable.
My Brennock size (measured with a fancy 3D scanner) is 9.2 and 9.4, width - E. A size 9.5 wide fits perfectly, leaving just enough room for a thicker sock in the winter.
I’m already thinking about what holiday or anniversary I can treat myself to another pair.

Black officer boots- buy now!

I spent my entire career flying in redwing boots during my time in the military. Day-in and day-out, after you got them broken in, they were flawless.

These officer boots are flawless from the start! As all new shoes are, they are a little stiff, but break in quickly and perfectly. The leather stretches appropriately with the shape of your foot and the wide toe box removes any squeezing that you’ll find in most other boots.

The leather soles can be a bit slick at first, but they’re leather soles, what do you expect? After a few days of wearing, with the soles properly scuffed in and worn, all slickness goes away.

These boots are my “work boots “and I fly with them every day that I’m working.

I could not be happier with the quality fit and finish of these boots. They are substantial, and wonderful!

Buy them… Don’t hesitate… Hurry! You won’t be sorry.

Amazing Boots!!

Love these boots!. Quality is outstanding and extremely comfortable. I was hesitant about the break in, but as soon as I put them on, it felt like I’d been wearing them for years.

Incredible

I ordered a pair of these boots and they are incredibly comfortable. I have issues with my heel and arch of my foot. These boots make the pain go away. They are a little stiff when you first get them but after wearing them about four or five times they soften up a little and man they are comfortable. Wearing them 10-12 hours a day now and I could sleep in them. Worth every penny. I got the oxblood boots and will be purchasing the black ones ASAP. My foot measured right on the line for a 10. I ordered a 10.5 to allow room for thicker socks in the winter. They fit great!!

Oxblood Boots

This is my third pair off Saddleback Officer Boots so I have completed the trifecta and I am delighted with each and every pair. What's not to like? Superior materials coupled with old world craftsmanship make for some mighty fine boots. The Oxblood color is eye-catching in appeal what with their deep, reddish brown tones warm and vibrant in the light of day.. I look forward to wearing them this Autumn in hikes in the hills of Carolina. These boots are keepers for sure and my favorite of the three.......

An outstanding boot

I eyed these boots for a good while before finally finding a Brannock device to get my real shoe size. These were ordered as a gift to myself for surviving another 18 years after my final combat tour in Iraq, and they have not disappointed in any way. They're extremely comfortable to walk in, and they look great. Perhaps the only downside is that ankles are stiff enough, even after walking more than 30mi in them, that driving my manual transmission truck in traffic is a little more annoying than usual. They've received a number of compliments at work and out on date nights with my wife. There's a good chance I buy another pair in a different color because I like them so much.

Raven Black Officer Boots

This is my second pair (the first.ones were the English Tan ones). I have rated and reviewed the English Tan ones in some detail so I will not bore with redundancy. I rave about these Raven ones, too - incredible boots! The black color on the Raven is rich and does make for a dressier look than the English Tan pair. Both pair are my favorites among a collection of Florsheims (vintage), Parkhursts, Grant Stones, and Carminas - all fine boots, but these Saddleback boots take the cake...The customer service is superb as well. I am delighted with the company and the boots. Bryan

Boot

The boots are great. Once broken in they really increase in comfort. I took them on a two week trip to Italy. I want another pair in a different color.

English tan officer boots

I purchased these boots after researching the construction materials and viewing their making in the Italian workshop. I was impressed by the old world craftsmanship coupled with construction materials of high quality of veg tan leathes in the upper as well as the boot's interior architecture (area where even high end makers use synthetics as cost cutting measures). Now, I own a pair. What a boot! They exude quality and the comfort is unsurpassed by any of the other boots I own. I bought the other two offerings to complete the trifecta. Fantastic boots! Beautiful, too. ....Oh, and Megan, Jan, Liz, and Odette, are excellent in delivering information and answering questions over the phone. Hats off to a Texas company that delivers such a top shelf boot.

Best Boots I have Ever Owned

I received my first pair of Saddleback Officer Boots in August 2025. I ordered a 10.5W, and while they fit, they were a little snug for my liking. Knowing how well Saddleback builds their products and planning to wear them regularly, I decided to go up a half size and ordered two more pairs in 11W—one Raven Black and one English Tan.
The Raven Black pair arrived in September 2025, and the English Tan arrived in November 2025. Since then, I've alternated between the two throughout the work week and wear them five days a week. I honestly couldn't ask for a better boot.
One thing worth mentioning is the last that Saddleback uses for these boots. I have fairly wide feet, and with many other brands I've had to move up to EEE widths to be comfortable. With these, the W width fits me perfectly. The shape of the boot provides plenty of room where I need it without feeling loose or sloppy. Finding that balance is rare, and it's one of the reasons I keep reaching for these boots every day.
What surprised me most was that I never experienced a break-in period. Both pairs were comfortable from the start and have only gotten better with time. The leather is substantial, the construction is solid, and they have held up exceptionally well. I typically scuff the toes and heels pretty badly on most shoes and boots I own, but on these I can hardly tell. Even after regular wear, both pairs still look remarkably good.
The only issue I've had has been with the shoelaces. The original laces that came with the boots broke after about three months. I didn't think much of it and replaced them with some leather laces, which looked great and worked well—until they also broke after about three months. At that point, I reached out to Saddleback. Their customer service was outstanding. They told me a few other customers had experienced similar issues, offered to send replacement laces, gave me a $50 gift card, and recommended a couple of alternative lace brands. I decided to go with Ironlace, and they've been going strong for about a month now without any issues.
For me, the lace situation was just a bump in the road rather than a real complaint, especially considering how Saddleback handled it. Their willingness to stand behind the product and take care of the customer says a lot about the company.
After wearing these boots five days a week for months, I'm convinced they're the best boots I've owned. The craftsmanship, durability, comfort, fit, and customer service have all exceeded my expectations. I fully expect to be wearing these for many years to come.
Thank you for being amazing Saddleback!!

I found my forever boot

I had been looking for a boot for years. I didn't know what I was looking for, specifically. But I knew I wasn't finding it. Then Dave made the Officer's Boot. I knew immediately I had found my forever boot.

I don't have a lot of things. But the things I do have I want to love owning. Like my saddleback bag. And wallet. And desk mat. And belt.

But these boots...I feel more like me when I'm wearing them. And they're pretty much the only footwear I've worn since slipping them on last summer.

Thank you, Dave and the beautiful folks in Italy who made these boots.

Now, go buy your very own Officer's Boot in peace.

incredible boots

These boots are excellent. I love the way they look and feel. I should probably wear them more, but they seem too nice and I only break them out for date night or more formal occasions. I probably need another pair in a different color for more casual wear or give the new huntsman a try. Thank you for another quality product, they never disappoint.

Hands down the best boots I’ve ever owned

Hi there,
the boots are absolutely excellent. They fit incredibly well, don’t pinch anywhere, and walking in them is genuinely a pleasure. My feet don’t hurt at all, and even after longer walks the comfort is outstanding. They’re only partially broken in so far, but my experience has been nothing but the best.
I can definitely recommend them to anyone looking for truly high‑quality boots that don’t squeeze, don’t rub, and offer maximum comfort while walking.

A refreshing break from the disposable culture. Look great, fit great and they feel like the quality that will last a while. Exactly what I have come to expect from everything I have bought from Saddleback.

Best pair of boots

I have been using the boots for the last 8 months, they are very comfortable and supportive, right out of the box, no break-in period required. I use them in business casual dress, traversing downtown meeting location, through airports, and on casual hikes. Looking to get another pair soon.

Excellent boots

Purchased 8 months ago and was pleased at how comfortable the boots were right out of the box. No break-in period, perfect fit, and very supportive for walking through town, airports, and on easy trails hikes. The boots work with business casual dress and blue jeans. will be purchasing another pair soon.

Officer's Boot - Raven Black

These are the best boots I've ever owned. They are even more impressive in person. I used a brannock device to measure myself and ordered a size based on this and the fit was perfect. They are a little stiff to start but once they are broken in they are extremely comfortable. They are very versatile and can be dressed up or down. I will be ordering another pair in a different color.

Boots as good as Saddleback!

The boots are actually more comfortable than I thought they would be in the first 100hrs of wear. Dave’s comments about building up tendon strength made me wonder, but I had no issues with them hurting my feet. Size was true to fit. They look beautiful. I haven’t worn them as much as I should have because I don’t want to wear them in the Iowa winters(we put way too much salt down). Because they are already comfortable, I now see these boots as special occasion boots to last my lifetime.

Best boots I’ve ever owned

From the moment I put them on, the Officer Boots felt like serious quality. They start out a little stiff — which I expected — but don’t worry. They break in beautifully and quickly, molding to your feet while keeping their rugged structure. Once they do, they become incredibly comfortable and better with age.
I consider these boots in the business-casual-to-professional category and completely change the game. They’re stylish enough for the office yet tough enough that you never feel like you’re babying them.
If you’re on the fence, go for it. These aren’t just boots — they’re an investment you’ll be glad you made.

Simply the best

These are hands-down the best boots I’ve ever owned.
From the moment I put them on, the Officer Boots were clearly of serious quality. They start out a little stiff — which I expected with full-grain leather this substantial — but don’t worry. They break in beautifully, quickly, and will mold to your feet. They become incredibly comfortable and look even better with wear.
These boots sit perfectly in the business-casual-to-professional category and completely change the game in that market. They’re stylish enough for the office, yet tough enough that you never feel like you’re babying them. These are my dress boots for life. Not just boots — they’re an investment you’ll be proud to wear. I also ordered the Huntsman boots a few weeks ago which will be my daily farm and work boot.

Incredible Boots

I was blown away by these boots. They look and feel incredible, and I have received frequent compliments on them. More importantly, they have broken in quickly and comfortably, but without the excessive wear you sometimes see in other boots. These boots exemplify the material quality and craftsmanship that I expect from Saddleback Leather. They’re quickly becoming my favorite pair.

Excellent Boots

I’ve been using these as more of a dress boot than an everyday boot as they are so nice and well made, so I probably only have 20-30 hours of wear time on them now.

The “break in”, if you want to call it that, lasted about an hour at most, so the boots were pretty great from the start. They are very comfortable to say the least!

My daily wear have been Nicks Boots for almost 2 decades now, so I feel like the bar for comfort and quality is set pretty high. The Saddleback boots are right there with my Nicks in terms of quality/comfort. They obviously serve a different purpose than a construction/logging type boot, but quality is quality.

I would (and have) highly recommended these to friends or anyone looking for a casual/semi dress boot.

I would say that I’d purchase them again, but it will be a long time before that’s likely necessary!
