    Awesome Case - Sizing Information

I love this case, as I do all of my Saddleback bags. The quality and craftsmanship are wonderful, and as someone else mentioned, your fellow shooters love it as well. I did want to provide some additional information about the sizing. I have a Beretta 688 Sporting B-Fast with 30-inch barrels. With the chokes installed, the shotgun measures 48 inches in overall length. When placed in the case, the stock extends about 6½ inches past the wool lining. This means that part of the stock sits inside the leather base closing flap. For reference, the wool lining ends at the stitching just below the strap with the Saddleback logo for the base closing flap. Personally, I don't see any issue with this, and after using the case, I believe this is how it was designed to be used. There are two metal attachments on the base closing flap, near the stock. One is the thickness cinch, which sits a little more than two inches beyond the end of my stock. The other is the buckle rivets, which are much farther away. You can see both in the open-flap photos shown in the product description. Regarding the peg on the thickness cinch, there is a screw on the inside that could be removed if it were a concern. In my case, once the shotgun is in the case, the peg is well past the base of the fold and completely out of the way. I haven't had any issues with either of these metal pieces, although I'm sure they could be covered if desired. As another reference for sizing, when I fold the base closing flap over and secure it, the flap ends up in the third hole down from the top of the strap, near the Saddleback logo. As for the other dimensions, my shotgun clears everything easily. For example, at the base of the stock, I still have 2 or more inches of clearance. I use this bag every week or two and absolutely love it. Overall, I believe this is a great fit for my shotgun.

    Perfect

purchased for my long rifle. also works well with the over/under.

    Too long

It's a nice case, well made. But it's way too big, even guns with 28+ inch barrels leave room at the end of the case, it's simply too large far the vast majority of guns. Well made but the size doesn't make sense and is simply too large

Buy It For Life, Get Complimented For Life.

I purchased this item as a Dave's Deal several years ago and shortly after I did, the leather gun sleeve was taken off the website so I wasn't able to give it a proper review. With that being said, this gun sleeve is the best piece of kit I've owned in conjunction with the pistol wraps (the straps on those will loop onto the D-Rings for handle on this sleeve and makes carrying both a breeze). Even though the item I purchased was a DD, the only flaw I could find was a small mark in the leather and that's it. I've used this many times since I've owned it and it has protected my firearms wonderfully and they have taken a tumble with no harm done to my guns. I have an old Browning Auto 5 which fits wonderfully in this as well as several bolt action .22 rifles which also fit quite nicely. The ONLY modern rifle with a pistol grip I was able to fit into this gun sleeve was an FAL and that's because of the aggressive grip angle that rifle has so be aware of that factor when ordering this item. I cannot make any claims as to whether or not scoped rifles will fit in here or not. I can picture a scoped .22 fitting in here but I'm hard pressed to believe anything larger would be able to. All in all, this item is worthy of 5 Stars from me. It's handsome, rugged, does the job incredibly well, and has received many compliments. Buy without reservation and for what it's worth, the color I purchased mine in is Chestnut.
