    Beast Duffle Bag

Wife, daughter and myself recently went on a Mexican coast trip. We had just purchased the beast Duffle bag a few months back. We put the Beast to the test, on the way back from vacation. The bag with our clothing and all the extra shirts for family members and other miscellaneous items we bought while on vacation were in the bag. When we checked in at the airline the bag weighed in at 38 kilograms about 84 lbs. The bag did not break a sweat, carrying the bag in backpack style was a plus. While waiting in line to check in I would lift the bag with the side strap because it was too heavy to carry it the whole time while waiting in the check in line, the side strap handled the weight very well. I would definitely recommend the Beast duffle bag. My wife and I are very pleased we bought the Beast Duffle bag. This wasn't our first purchase from Saddleback, we love all our products but the Beast is a must have for families who travel.

    Perfect Adventure Bag

I got this as a high school graduation present, along with the dopp kit, and took them along with me to South Africa and Tanzania over the summer. A month long trip and The Beast didn't let me down, carried all my gear for climbing Kilimanjaro and Safari, and even weighed less than the bags that my grandparents packed. I love this thing to death and take it out whenever I get the chance. Well worth the investment if you're planning on taking long trips out of country, or if you want to sneak a lion cub or two back into the states (they'd fit with room to spare). Not to mention the coffee color is absolutely gorgeous.

    The Papa of all bags!

We just received our new Saddleback Beast bag and it looks just as great as the pictures on the website. This being our first bag purchase, we were impressed by the quality of the leather and craftsmanship. This bag represents everything you would expect from Saddleback and more. It's your ultimate duffle bag purchase. Looking forward to our next Saddleback purchase! P.S. This really is a BEAST! Dave must be a giant among men because he makes it look normal-sized. :)

So THAT'S why they call it the beast!

This bag is big. I am 181cm tall (5'11") and this bag, sitting on its end, reaches my waist. think football (soccer) kit bag and you are in the right area. that being said, it is extremely well constructed, its strapping and handles aiding it in keeping its shape when you are lugging around your stuff. I did have high expectations of this bag, both through the reviews and Dave's videos, and higher anticipation after the item had been out of stock for a while, but I must say it exceeds them all. As I live out of a bag (initially a 100litre rucksack, then a SBL side pocket duffel), this will be a constant companion, with enough space for my restaurant and party clothes (YAY), my work clothes (Hmm...) and my gym gear (wait a minute! what?). It is one big bucket of a bag, so some internal organisation will be needed for used sports kit etc, but that is not a problem in the slightest. As the bag is made with only 4 pieces of leather, there are some character marks(a few lines), however I am of the same mind as Dave et al on this - it lends itself to a more interesting bag. If the marks denoted any weakness, I am sure that it would not pass the quality test. This is on the tobacco coloured version - I imagine that the other styles will have such minor elements removed. The only thing that I am not immediately over the moon with is the strap handles/shoulder pads. this is simply because they are still new and it will take some time to soften them down such that the grip is comfortable when carrying heavier loads (it is far from uncomfortable as it is, but I had to pick on something now, didn't I? ;-) ). I have only had it outside a few times, but already several comments on it - be prepared to be social if you have one of these!. Great job Guys!
